Indonesia Travels

Did a really cool trip to a island in Indonesia with a friend of mine recently. A lot of locals still live in traditional huts, very little to no money and totally self sufficient. Wealth is measured by how many buffalo and horses you have. Here's some photo's of some of the landscape and a few people locals I met. Thanks for a great trip Christian.

RIP Andy

Sad News that Andy irons past away earlier this week, gone but not forgotten mate. Andy will go down in history as one of the greats in surfing. The photo of Andy above is from last year when he came to the desert.

Summer days

I shot this on the long drive north a week ago, the clouds looked amazing and it was a really hot summery day.

Spinning Vortex

It was a Awesome Day today in the water, light offshore and really warm. I took some time to shoot some underwater photo's at a little secret break. Have a close look at the tubes of air being pushed through the water as the lip penetrates. I've only noticed this at heavier waves were the lip pitches really hard, these tubes of water are actually spinning really fast.

Canon V Nikon

I gotta laugh with all this Canon Versus Nikon, your a Nikon man or Canon!. I think there both amazing... How good is the Canon 7D and 5D mark II to film with, the footage looks amazing. The new Nikon FX bodies, so good in low light...

Can't Have Everything

Bit of a mission last few days to try and score this left slab, got there finally in the morning and had it for about 45 minutes before the wind turned onshore, so shattered.. Basically as soon as i hit the water haha, Kit Raynor got one good one and it was all over...

Blue Tongue

I spotted this little guy coming back from Kalbarri, he was on the side of the road and nearly got squashed but a truck... Didn't stop him trying to have a go at the truck on the way past... crazy!.

Respect Our Oceans

I've really noticed the amount of boats heading north this year in WA and the amount of people fishing really hard, just because people are on holidays there's not need to kill the pig. Fisheries recently caught a guy with 70kg of fillet and this is a department that are totally under maned, imagine what they don't see. I recently got one fish that fed me for a month, I went diving almost everyday I could and I didn't have to go spear loads of fish because I didn't need to.

Were lucky here in WA we still have some fish left, respect our ocean and fish for the future and only taking what you need : )

Last few days diving

Been some beautiful weather last few days, a couple friends came up from down south and we jumped in on the outer reefs but the visibility was pretty bad. First dive we had a tiger shark hanging about, we opted out chumming for Mackerel. Believe me it's not much fun having big sharks hassling you when you can't see much.. We headed to the inshore reefs...Here's a little clip I nocked up really quick, check out the sharks towards the end of the clip feeding off a bait ball.

Latest Cover The Surfers path

The Latest Cover of The Surfers Path I shot of Dean Bowen, I was real stoked on this shot so it's a real treat to score a cover from it.

Temptress

Temptress girl Yulia in the new issue of WAVES, I photographed Yulia for the new Gypsea Swimwear range due out this summer. The brand is based on my imagery and is probably one of the most unique swimwear brands to hit this summer. All feedback so far has been amazing and were expecting great things.

Desert Firing

The Swell has been pumping of late up north, long time coming with a slow start to the season... The first swell we had last Saturday is as big as I've seen it for a long time with 10-12 foot sets, swimming was a test but it paid off.. The following Tuesday was firing, I think I swam 6-7 hours because I could bare going in the waves were so good.

A new Project I've been working on with Emma Brereton, it's called Gypsea Swimwear. I designed and photographed the artwork for this piece, I based it on the Red Bluff. This piece is made from a amazing fabric we imported from Italy.

Keep a eye on the new web site www.gypsea.com.au it will be going live in the next week.

Mouse Spider

I found this crazy little critter walking around at home, the size of the fangs is out of control.
